Nainital is a charming city situated in a valley flanked by seven hills or Sapta Shring and adorned with a sparkling lake. Boating over its quiet waters is also an experience of a lifetime. A kilometer and a half promenade called Mall Road gives a good run to the Naini Lake. Divided into two parts, Mall Road bustles with arrayed shops and hotels. It comes to life in the evenings when the tourists and locals decide to take a walk on it. The smell of corn and coffee and the crowd of assorted people make it one of the best places to see in Nainital. The two ends of the Mall Road are distinguished as Tallital (Tail of the Lake) and Mallital (Head of the Lake), where Tallital welcomes the new visitor with a wide angle view of the sparkling lake, surrounding mountains, colonial-era buildings and the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, Mallital entertains the guests with multiple eating joints serving delicious Momos; hotels with lake view; Tibetan Market selling trendy clothes, Bada Bazaar that has a rich collection of locally manufactured candles; a playground in the form of ‘The Flats’ and a ropeway.

Nainital is opulent when it comes to tourist attractions. It is a treasure trove of activities that can keep tourists engaged all through. However, the major attractions are its beautiful lake, salubrious climate, the sacred Naina Devi Temple and the opportunity to savour the Kumaoni culture.
